To get to this amazing memorial you have to drive down steep gravel roads through the forests near king lake.

Strathewen Community Bushfire Memorial

Another absolutely amazing, interesting memorial to the victims of the 2009 black Saturday bushfires. Both amazing pieces of art as well as being intensely meaningful.

This is very close to the St. Andrews bushfire memorial, if you don't mind driving up steepish gravels roads. Friends on facebook told me that blacksmiths across Australia crafted the leaves on the Blacksmiths tree as a contribution to the memorial.

Photos on google have aerial shots of the memorial taken from an angle that its no longer possible to replicate. The trees have grown back.
